This book, courtesy of Project Gutenberg Australia, is a biography of a once infamous man who died in obscurity. This claim to infamy was as a notorious spy for Germany in the United States during World War I, prior to US entry into the war in 1917.

The sabotage activities of Germany during World War II were much feared, but the activities of Germany in the U.S. during World War I were infinitely more intrusive and destructive.
