Kindle for PC very slowly to boot up

As my kindle library (both my purchases and tons of Amazon freebies) grows, I notice that my Kindle for PC program starts to take a ridiculously long time to initialize and start. It could take up to several minutes to get it up and running.

Does anyone else have this issue, or is it my just my pc? Anything I could do?

I don't think K4pc was made to handle large libraries, just another thing Amazon didn't think out fully. As such, I do not keep a large number of files in k4pc to keep it from the slow startup.

It's normal. It's not the number of books you have in your Amazon library that result in a slow startup, but the number of books you have in your "My Kindle Contents" folder - ie the number of books you have installed locally. Cleaning out that folder from time to time will keep it quick to start.

I purged the folder and now the loading speed is much, much better.
Thanks for the tip, HarryT.
