Funny Kindle Easter Egg
I accidentally did a search on the letter "e" from my home screen (I meant to Go To e authors, but accidentally did a search).
The top result first made me blink three times and think my Kindle had lost its mind. Then I laughed. I love geeks. (Try it, see what happens...not sure if it works on the K3 only.) |

It will do a little bit of math as well. Try 10/2.

Works on the K2US & DXI as well. Kinda cool.

Wow, the math is cool. Could come in handy for quick currency conversions while reading the Dragon Tattoo books

Not terribly original, though. Google does exactly the same thing.

We were talking about the Kindle's calculator It's actually been there from the days of the K2 at least, but perhaps there are new K3 owners who weren't aware of it.
It's much more than just an "Easter Egg" - it's a full-fledged calculator with a wide range of mathematical functions. It does far more than just "e" and "pi" - you can "search" for any numerical expression and the result will be the answer. Eg, try "2+3*4", "sqrt(2)", etc. It's very useful. I only brought it up because the "e" search result was so unexpected and I thought it was funny.
Sorry to be duplicative or whatever. |
