@ap: i believe that stuff about paper page turning for young kids too. after all, they're still learning about the world around them, and they have such curiousity but if i ever do have kids, i will what many here have done and get both versions

I think that if an ereader will get a kid to read more and they're old enough to handle it (or use it under supervision), then it's a great idea. There are still some books however that I will purchase in good ol' paperback/hardcover.

My son has Asperger's syndrome and is infinitely more interested in tech gadgets than in books. I'm seriously considering letting him try reading on a kindle after his next year of school. He might connect with it more than with paper pages.
