Can select 3G network, any fixes?

Hey all,

I can't get my kindle to recognize a 3g network. I've gone to 311 and tried to select and AT&T network and hit enter, but it never puts a check next to it like it should. I've even tried to select the automatic network function also but with no results. When I 311 again, same thing....essentially, I can't get it to work. Any ideas? Wifi works great but would like the flexibility to get both to work.

Thanks!

I remember you asking this question a few weeks ago. Apparently that didn't solve anything.
Might it be a possibility just to phone Amazon and ask the hypothetical question of you having 3G before you'll register your Kindle (in the near future)?

edit; even if it appears that the Kindle doesn't have to be registred for 3G, it can do no harm to ask Amazon. They've a good customersservice.

When I first bought my Kindle, I couldn't get it to connect to the 3G network. After calling Amazon, it turns out they did something wrong before it left the factory and it didn't recognize my Kindle as a valid device of theirs. They told me it would be working within 6 hours but 15 minutes after the call it was already working. 3G would NEVER have worked on my device had I not called them.

I had the same problem and got it resolved just an hour ago. After making me go through Alt-311 and such, the CS guy finally told me that the radio was blocked on my kindle and that they will unblock/activate it on their end and my kindle should work fine in 15 minutes or so. I checked after 15 minutes and it was working and already registered to my Amazon account.
