"to read" list
I was wondering how other people are keeping track of the titles on their "to read list".
On calibre, I currently "overload" the meaning of the "rating" field, books without rating are also books that I haven't read. On 505, books that are read go to SD, new stuff goes to the reader. It works, except I can not mark book as read on the device, while I am away from the computer and calibre, and I don't like how much the whole scheme depends on my input. How do you keep track of books that you haven't read yet? |

I create "READ" and "To READ" tags. Probably giving a star rating rather than a "READ" tag mighht be better.

I have recently asked about the same thing. My preference is to strip all tags from stuff that i have read, and replacing them with a "read" tag. That star rating system looks promising, i will test it too.

I only rate books that I have read. I tag all books that I add with a size tag and a genre tag (ex: "genre:SciFi"), then after I read them I will apply more specific tags (ex: "sub:Hard SF").

I just started seriously using Calibre. I am currently marking things I have read with a single star. I don't use the ratings for anything else. I never have been much on rating books, music, etc. If I liked it or hated it, I'd probably remember.

I have a "Unread" tag for each genre. For example, I have a SciFi tag and a Scifi Unread tag. When I finish the book, I change the tag from the Unread to normal tag.

When I've read a book I rate it and tag it "Read".

I've got _TOREAD_, _READ_ and _ONREADER_ tags ; I also make use of the (off-topic) GoodReads social site.
