See another thread for the definition of Hoedown, or check wikipedia. Basically a true hoedown is a somewhat rural (South or West US) where people get-together to eat, visit, sing, dance, etc. We will substitute other entertainment( show & tell about various ereaders) for the singing & dancing.

But the real reason is that's what DixieGal called it on the initial announcement.

I can pretty much guarantee you won't see me dancing or singing. Maybe a little humming (off key, of course) and some minor hip shaking (what? you don't hear that tune?), but that's it. And I won't be bringing any garden implements either.

I'll sing or dance anywhere, be it hoedown or throw down. It's fine with me if the title is changed. I'm looking forward to seeing y'all's e-readers, because all I've ever seen is mine and an old Sony that had the same type of screen as mine. I hope lots of people will come to our picnic.
