and sometimes life says HA!
so, this man I have literally had a love/hate relationship with oh these many years, bluntly informed me on May 12 that he was having a few surgical procedures done on May 17 & 18. to make an incredibly long story short, this man that I have left and come back to so many times over a variety of issues, but not the least of which were diet and health issues, has stage 2b colon cancer. there have been several procedures, including a malignant tumour removed that left FIFTY stitches in a location I will leave up to your imagination.
numerous visits to numerous specialists. chemo and radiation start Monday, surgery end of the summer. prognosis iffy |

It is possible to survive cancer. Do not underestimate the value of positive thinking.

You may yet have many more opportunities to come and go Lady. Colon cancer is very treatable.

I know it's survivable, but it could even have been preventable or manageable if he had engaged on his health care. this is a man that declared he would be dead at 50, then to his surprise had a heart attack at 54. that wasn't enough of a wake up call. since he got out of the Army he has REFUSED to see a Doc for anything other than his heart attack. this is an incredibly bright (MENSA) well educated (triple BA) man.

2b is very manageable. And btw, my mother, who is a vegetarian and has been for 20 years, who exercises every day, who is slightly underweight, who eats daily fiber and more than her 5 veggies and fruits, who has not had white bread for 20 years and has very very little processed food, well in short my mom has had colon cancer 10 years ago.
So non healthy habits certainly do not help, but it can also be bad luck and not God's finger or whoever else's on us. Sadly, many have or will get cancer in a non "life says HA!" way. I don't believe that anyone deserves it, nor any other disease, btw. Good luck to your special person (did not quite understand what he is to you, but obviously he is important) and try to keep positive thoughts. Last edited by aceflor; 06-21-2012 at 07:55 AM. |

Hope it turns out well for your special one that you both can say back "HA" to life! (Guess it's now not the time for the hate part of your relation).
