Es gibt ein SDK, aber leider nicht gut dokumentiert (hauptsächlich weil die Doku auf Russisch ausgegeben ist)

Ein Teil der Firmware ist OS, die UI aber nicht.

Leider nicht. Neben dem SDK sind nur die Sourcen für die von Pocketbook angepaßten Programme fbreader und PDFViewer sowie die von einigen Programmen verfügbar, die von Anwendern im Rahemn eines Wettbewerbs entwickelt wurden. Siehe https://pocketbook-free.svn.sourcefo...cketbook-free/.

Gerade die Sourcen fürs Bookshelf wären interessant - vielleicht würde es dann ja schon die Anzeige von Serien-Informationen bei epubs geben ...

Genau das ist es: hättest Du (oder jemand anderes) es nicht schon getan, hätte ich mich daran versucht - da hat Pocketbook viel Potential verschenkt. Vieleicht wäre ja dabei auch noch die Anzeige des Inhalts/der Beschreibung abgefallen ...
