I don't know whether the Nook Colour has an app, but it's worth trying to find one.

Perhaps this would get a better response in the Android forum.

Your question is too vague. "Best" in what way? What criteria are you looking for?

Just easy to use. Something for children under 10.
Most apps can get to be too much. I had a H of a time finding one my mother could use and even then I just told her to go 'here', 'do this' and 'don't change anything'. |

Most of the reader apps I've seen seem to try to pack in lots of features. Frankly, I just want to read. I'd suggest looking at the Kindle and Google Books apps.

My eight year old niece seems to have no problems using both the Kindle app and the Overdrive app. She's on an iPad, but the Android versions are fairly similar in operation.

Can you load your own books into those apps without a lot of extra/syncing?
Thanks |

That's still true. The Kindle app is better than Google Books in that regard. With Google Books you have to upload the ePub to Google Play.

Ok...one more questions.
Can use the same account on multiple devices? Can you set the Kindle app to tell it what books to sync to each device or not to sync at all? Ok, I guess it was two questions |

But do the books from the cloud automatically download or can you pick and choose? I would download the ones they need access to and they wouldn't have access to internet until the next time I update the tablets. So I'm not worried about them accidentally downloading a horror or romance but I don't want it to auto sync Thanks |
