Plugboard Not Working with Paperwhite
Hi:
For some reason my plugboard in the title field is not working on the kindle paperwhite. I am using the following plugboard: {#stripped_series:lookup(.\s,#initials,.,#shortene d,series)}{series_index:0>2s| [|] }{title} - {tags} - {#sectag}. The device it is linked to is the kindle2, the books transfer back and forth correctly on the device. Could this be the reason the plugboard doesn't work?? |

which format are you choosing?
I had to use 2 plugboards with the same expression to get titles to cross consistently: mobi:kindle2 and azw3:kindle2. |

I am using mobi files but I suppose I should add one for azw3 files also since I have them reconverted using the kf8 thingy.

If you are creating "joint" mobi files with both kf8 and mobi 6 plugboards will not work. Use azw3 or standalone mobi.

Why not just set all formats to be renamed? I rename all my books whether azw* or epubs to stick the series into the title. It works fine.

Because it won't work for Mobi books you create with both as the output. See Kovid's quote.

I have never set out to create one. (I'm not really sure what they are for.) I'm assuming they must be deliberately created in calibre, in which case I should know I'll have a problem? Does anything besides for calibre create them (say, books I have bought from Amazon) and if so, how do I recognize them? Last edited by eschwartz; 03-04-2013 at 02:31 AM. |
