K3 hinge electrical connection
Anyone knows if the K3 hinge electrical connection is capable of charging the battery on the K3?

No clue but I wouldn't attempt it. Until somebody can carefully work out the internal wiring of the power circuitry inside the Kindle, you may end up damaging it. You might be only powering half the Kindle which won't ever happen during normal operation and it might not like that.
Of course, if you still go ahead with this then tell us how it goes
