I like Dan Brown. I don't care how much he "bends the truth", his books are entertainment

I didn't think 'Inferno' was that good a read myself. Although Dan Brown's novels are definitely worth reading, they are usually good entertainment.

I find it a bit surprising, but then again I don't think there were any real big block buster best sellers this year. Brown is, IMPO, one of those authors who had one really good book, and the rest ok books, but not particularly great. But once you get a reputation, people buy your books.

I usually like Dan Brown, but for some reason Inferno just didn't hold my attention. I returned it to the library 30% read.

Certainly not "great literature", but the man knows how to write a "page turner". I've enjoyed all his books.

I was so disgusted with "Angels and Demons" I never read another. Fantasy isn't my genre.
But, the news does reinforce my opinion of best seller lists and popular appeal. |

I've read the Da Vinci Code. Meh. The whole concept was ludicrous. As if any evidence could ever change religious people's minds about their religion.

I seriously doubt that was what he was trying to accomplish. They were written for entertainment pure & simple. As were the movies.
