Custom news source - for forums
Hi,
I want to create a news source that creates a daily 'book' of topics on various forums I like to keep a check on (those which don't have RSS feeds). I started using web based rss scrapers such as Feed43 to get the data - but i think those tools only allow the creation of a page 'depth' of 1 - ie it will produce an RSS of the top level page only - and not download any of the actual forum posts. Does anybody know how to create a custom source that will create a 'book' of articles where the article list contains the list of threads, and each thread can then be opened and read in full? I looked at Python and soon got lost - and the web based tools i looked at didn't seem to do it. A forum that would interest me, for example, is a car one - here: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=37 thanks in advance, Richard |
