million book project - any updates?

I like that they use .djvu - I wish more people used .djvu

If it's the same DjVu that Wikipedia refers to, it's yet another image format, not an ebook format (no text is actually stored or available). If there were any viewers out there, then it would be fine as an end format, but not as a beginning format.

if i understand it correctly - text is stored in 1 layer of the image. It is easily serachable in the all of the viewers. It's just like PDF but better... althought less frequently used.

Converting it would result in a huge loss of functionality and the size advantage that DJVU has. Generally books are available in other formats. While I like the presentation and capability of DJVU its major features would be lost in conversion. To understand read the wiki on this topic.
