BugMeNot.com
BugMeNot.com was created as a mechanism to quickly bypass the login of web sites that require compulsory registration and/or the collection of personal/demographic information (such as the New York Times). Legal? Not sure. Here some sites that were requested by others at BugMeNot.com:

BTW, there is a Bugmenot extension available for Mozilla/Firefox. It adds Bugmenot to the context menu when you click on text fields for username/password.

I just love the sense of humor of those who registered the info into the database...info like a 85 year grandmother browsing a tech site or email like Abuse@whitehouse.org for a trial-paysite.

FYI: This site is back up at the original domain. We were playing around with it at work earlier.

Gotta love the bookmarklet in Safari. Works 100% out of the box. No messing with required.

Are you sure?
When I try to get there (www.bugmenot.com) from both IE and Foxfire I get a genearic Go Daddy parked web site page. Could it be different from my location than others? |

Am I missing something? I go to http://www.bugmenot.com/ and a generic Go Daddy page comes up as a web site placeholder.
I see a page from Go Daddy with a web search box at the top, and notes that say "Welcome to www.BugMeNot.com", "The page is parked free", etc and mostly filled by a "Popular Searches" web directory. Is that different than what others are seeing? Anyone else try it with Comcast as their ISP? Odd... |
