LRFs Super Slow

When I create and transfer LRFs to my Sony PRS-505 they are super slow to open or change font size. I end up staring at the wait symbol for several minutes. If I transfer the same lrf using the Sony Library software then they are very fast.

I did change the default font on my reader and in the Sony software. Is that the reason? If so, how can I get Calibre transferred files as fast as those from my Sony software?

The device is paginating the book the first time you open it/go to a font size, but Sony's own software is able to preload the data as it can do that at the same time as it transfers the book. Unfortunately, there's no documentation on the algorithm it uses, so it's not yet able to be done by Calibre.

As Gwyn says, it's a one-time operation. When you open the book subsequently, it should open instantly.

Thank you. I really love Calibre for it's managment aspect. I'm hoping he can crack the code on getting on the fly pagination.
