Finally registered!
Hi,
I am very familiar with this forum, as I have been reading it since a few years now. However, somehow, I never really registered for it. This is really one of the best forums out there and am very happy to be here! I've been using forums since I can remember (and before that, usenet) and have been a super mod on some of them. So don't expect any trouble from me :P On a devices & location note, I have and love my Sony PRS-505. And my Kindle 3 reaches me here in New Delhi, India, in the next 3 days! |

Wow glad that you can get a hold of those readers in India. Do you pay the same in india for these readers as we do here in the states. The Sony PRS-350PC is 8,184 rupees, Sony PRS-650BC is 10,451 rupees, the Sony PRS-950SC is 13,631 rupees, the Kindle is 6,316 rupees and the Kindle Wifi is 8,587 rupees. How do these prices compare to what you would spend for them in your home town of New Deli.

Wow, thanks for the great welcome!
Been searching and lurking for a few days for a nice skin/cover combo for the kindle. pdurrant: Feels good to be able to stop lurking hehe.. jbcohen: Actually, the gray market here is pretty strong, so even if companies decide not to release their products officially, you can usually get it for a slight premium over the US pricing. But, from what I have noticed, most of the companies are finally starting to release their products here simultaneously, or very soon after their release elsewhere. I bought my Sony from London for 150 pounds a few years back. I am having the Kindle 3 shipped to me directly from Amazon and it costs a little more than Rs. 12,000 ($269). Which might not be as cheap as the $189 but seems a fair price, as they take care of import duties too. |
