Orcs: Inferno by Stan Nicholls, is a fantasy novel, free courtesy of publisher Hachette's Orbit imprint.

Free to pre-order @ Amazon (not available to Canadians), slated for April 10th. May be a glitch, Hachette normally only offers samplers.

Description
Using the mysterious artifacts known as instrumentalities, the Wolverines embarked on a world-hopping mission to liberate fellow orcs and to take revenge on their old antagonist Jennesta. But it isn't working out too well for the warband. Saddled with novices and a pair of humans of doubtful loyalty, and pursued by a powerful group bent on retrieving the instrumentalities, life is proving far from simple.

And destiny has more complications in store. The instrumentalities can no longer be relied upon and have left the band trapped in a world where enemies mass on every side. While tensions in the band threaten to rip it apart, Thirzarr, mate of Wolverines captain Stryke, has been seized by Jennesta and faces a living death.

With the fate of worlds at stake, daunting obstacles, and fresh adversaries blocking their path, the Wolverines are about to be drawn into the greatest battle of their lives.

Never mind,

I see it is #3 in the SECOND Orcs trilogy.... (just don't ask me how "Orcs: Bad Blood", a fouth in the trilogy, fits into the lineup)

I liked the sample of Orcs (the first trilogy) well enough, I grabbed it and Bad Blood on Fictionwise, long ago (but haven't finished them), during a huge sale/coupon code (and before they were kicked out of Agency titles). All I need now is Army of Shadows (and the time to read five books) and I'll be ready to tackle this one.

Prices aren't as bad here, on this series, though - looks like $9.99/title. That means $20 to get caught up with this one, if you grabbed it free or $10 to read the entire first trilogy (788 pages in print), as that one is an omnibus, even if you can't tell from the title.
