Free audiobooks - Assorted Comedy & Agatha Christie [CD & MP3]

AudioGo, a division of the BBC, just sent me a newsletter saying that they're doing some audiobook promotions this week:

1) Every weekday until the 29th, they'll have a free comedy download on their website's Comedy page. AudioGo have generally been fairly decent about allowing people around the world to get their stuff.

That doesn't start until Monday, however.

2) For lucky UK residents, however, this weekend they'll have four free Agatha Christie radio plays on 2 CDs included with the weekend editions of The Telegraph newspaper.

1st CD on Saturday the 13th includes The Hound of Death and In a Glass Darkly.

2nd CD on Sunday the 14th has The Witness for the Prosecution and The Last Seance.

It's probably a bit late for UK readers to get the 1st CD (unless you can beg neighbours/relatives or find a late-opening newsagent), but should be plenty of time to pick up the 2nd if you want it.

AudioGo will also be running some sales on their Comedy titles at up to 50% off CD and download purchases.

I just visited the site and there is no mention of free anything. This may be because I'm visiting the site from here in the USA and the offer is only for UK visitors. Looks like I could buy CDs if I wish, but the only group I've ever been interested in are the Goons, and I have a ton of their shows already... anyone interested in British comedy who hasn't heard of The Goon Show is advised to look it up and be prepared to laugh

The current one redirects to this page where the current offering is "Jo Caulfield Won't Shut Up":

So if you want to know what Peaches Geldof thinks about totalitarianism and what kind of tipple goes best with a chicken party bucket.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to have put up a direct link to the actual freebie, so you'll have to go this special product page where you can get Episode 1 of Series 1 of the show for free as an MP3 download.

When I tried it, it was available to Canadians, though you may have to fiddle with the country pop-up bar a few times to get it away from "United Kingdom".

Thanks for the links. They sure don't make it easy to find from their home page, nor do they seem to be listed on either the main comedy page or the promotions page.

Maybe a problem in terminology? When I go to the main page -- http://www.audiogo.co.uk/ -- and click on "Comedy" from the left-hand sidebar I go to this page -- http://www.audiogo.co.uk/audiobook-category/comedy -- I considered that to be the main comedy page.

No mention of a free download on either page.

Ah, I was considering this was the main comedy page: http://www.audiogo.co.uk/comedy. And trust me, it took me like 5 minutes to figure out the big red box on the side so I could understand how someone else could miss it too lol.
