Pixel Qi Readers?

Hi all,

My interest was sparked by comments in the Astak thread that went a bit off-topic and into discussing Pixel Qi's upcoming displays. I was hoping to get some discussion going on it here because the more I looked into it the more interesting they appeared as a technology. From what I was able to gather, they are going to start mass producing 10" displays this summer and that they will be very low power. The figures that I saw for the OLPC were that they used only 0.2 watts per hour in black and white mode. That's pretty impressive, those displays were around 6" so obviously the power might be higher now. Additionally while I haven't seen one of them in person, the pictures I have seen of the OLPC in direct sunlight are simply beautiful. An ereader that is that easy on the eyes and has full 60Hz refresh will be quite revolutionary. Anyways, below are some links with pictures and other info on what they are working on. Any information you guys can add will be much appreciated and if anyone knows of any upcoming devices or has pictures of them I'd really like to know

Pixel Qi homepage (not much info here) - http://pixelqi.com/

Pictures of OLPC screen in direct sunlight as an ereader (clunky as it is) - http://wowio.wordpress.com/2008/04/1...nshine-screen/

A nice explanation of why the black and white text on the screen is very high resolution relative to colour and the neat technology tricks they used to do that - http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/...r-but-very-odd

The blog of their founder Mary Lou Jepsen - http://pixelqi.com/blog1/ (some nice tidbits here that they are indeed working on ereaders or with ereader companies at the very least)

A look at the OLPC 2 - http://blog.laptopmag.com/first-look...-generation-20

Definitely very excited by this and looking forward to your input
