In fact I did single convert them, but with the settings you can find on the first file (the correct ones), i.e. RightToLeft = True and OutputFormat=jpg. I know it's weird, that's why I can't figure out what the reason could be. Maybe a bug, but I can't debug the application myself.

select both books, click the arrow next to edit metadata nad select bulk edit
In the bulk edit dialog, choose the option to delete stored conversion settings. Then try the conversion and see if the bulk settings are applied. Also make sure the files are CBZ not ZIP and CBR not RAR |

Sure, it's attached to this message (just few pages of one chapter). Please rename it to .CBC, I had to rename it to .ZIP to be able to upload it. Thanks.

Thank you for fixing this!!! It looks like it works fine now, except for one very, very minor thing. When you're doing a bulk conversion, shouldn't the comic input tab come up to allow it to be tweaked for the current conversion, instead of only using what is already set for your preferences? I don't need to tweak my settings, so I'm happy with how things are set up now, but I thought others might, so I thought I'd mention it.
Thanks again for fixing the bulk conversion so quickly! You're Awesome!!! |

you can bulk convert multiple file types, so you cannot set any input format specific settings for a bulk convert, that's what the default settings are there for.

hi , may i ask how did the converter determind the sequence of the files after converting ? i wan to get 01/02/03/04/05 ...
i have jpegs and pngs together that are numbered in correct sequence when sorted by name. then i zip the folder and rename to cbz . i choose " disenable image processing" in comic input. but after i convert to epub, the first pages are png files , followed by jpegs even tho the jpgs are number 00/01/02/03 etc etc ... |

I've been successfully creating epubs from cbc files, but today I experienced a problem with one. I tried converting them from CBR to CBZ and then recreating the CBC, I've double checked the filenames in the comics.txt file for typos, and everything should work, but for some reason the conversion aborts with this error:

EDIT: Apparently if I turn off comic processing it works just fine. I wonder why it's not working the other way though. Last edited by sgreig; 08-24-2010 at 10:09 AM. |

probably the image files in the comic are in an unsupported format like jpeg2000 or they are corrupted.

Hrm. Ok, I'll look into it further. I've never heard of jpeg2000 before so I didn't even know to look for something like that.

I just got a nook from Barnes and Noble and started converting Mangas with Calibre. They display nicely on there, but there's one annoying problem that I keep running into. I'm not sure if it's already been answered on here, but the pages are coming up out of order when I convert. I'm thinking it has to do with some of the naming schemes, because the .rar file that I imported contains several chapters of the manga from one volume. As an example, here's a sample file list of one of the mangas that I've been converting:
Gunnm LO v01 c01 016.jpg Gunnm LO v01 c01 017.jpg Gunnm LO v01 c01 018.jpg etc, etc Gunnm LO v01 c02 066.jpg Gunnm LO v01 c02 067.jpg Gunnm LO v01 c02 068.jpg etc, etc GUNNM LO v01 c03 094.jpg GUNNM LO v01 c03 095.jpg GUNNM LO v01 c03 096.jpg etc, etc GUNNM LO v01 c04 118.jpg GUNNM LO v01 c04 119.jpg GUNNM LO v01 c04 120.jpg etc, etc I'm thinking because the filenames for chapters 3 and 4 are in caps, it's messing things up. Not really a problem with calibre, but the scanners' naming schemes. However, they display in proper order in the .rar file, doing chapter 1, then 2, then 3 and so on in order regardless of the caps on chapters 3 and 4. But when it's converted to an EPUB or PDF, what is odd is that the order goes chapter 3, chapter 1, chapter 2, chapter 4. I don't know why chapter 3 jumped to the top of the list. Is it because the name is in caps? But then why didn't chapter 4 do that too? I tried setting the converter to not reorganize the files when converting, but that made them completely out of order. Is there a way to use Calibre to make an EPUB with the files in the EXACT SAME ORDER that they are in the .rar? They used to be in numbered folders inside the .rar, but that didn't change anything. Now they are loose files. Should I rename all of the files? Is there a free batch renamer that would make this process quicker? Another question that I had is: how do you add chapter marks to mangas? My files are nothing more than a collection of jpegs in a .rar, so there's not really anything that it autodetects. I'm a little confused how to use the chapter settings. Thank you for your time. Reading comics on an e-reader is awesome! |

See http://calibre-ebook.com/user_manual...ok-collections
as for your file ordering issues, try using the dont sort option in Comic Input. If that doesn't work, you're out of luck. |

Thanks for the help. Doing the "don't sort thing" made some of them work. I found a batch renamer and I've been fixing some of the other ones. I'll try out the chapter thing, thank you!
