prs650 - folder navigation

Hi

Im just starting to look for a 6" ereader. I have about 3'500 pdfs well sorted in folders and subfolders. How will the PRS650 handle this? Is there really NO folder navigation?

Thanks for some help and greetings

For whatever reason, none of the big three (Sony, Kindle, and Nook) support folders. Sony and Kindle offer collections instead. If you use a program like Calibre, which lets you add tags and series information, you can control where they go. On the Sony, Collections are built based on tags and series. It's a nice concept if your books are organized and tagged properly. I don't know how the Kindle organizes its collections, but imagine it's similar.

There's a nifty matrix, located here, that shows which 6" readers support folders, as well as other useful comparison information.

As polly stated, Sony's collections are based upon tags only and are really considered single level folder support (therefore no subfolders).

Thanks both for your kind help. Seems I have to look elsewhere. Single folder is not a option.

Before you go and start looking elsewhere, ask yourself a question:

Do I really need 3.500 ebooks on my ebook reader?

If you really want 3500 PDFs all nicely sorted in folders and sub folders, a different type of device might be better than an e-book reader. Like a netbook or ipad.

Just IMO.
