Hello, I am Shawn Fluhr (SoaringMoon) an avid worldbuilder and aspiring fiction author. This is my first published book and is a non-fiction guide to worldbuilding for authors of fiction, screenwriters, game developers; and other creative industry employees.

About the Book

This book covers a large range of topics, including but not limited to: depth vs breadth worldbuilding style, the design of natural laws for universes, geographical features, flora and fauna, materials, settings and genres, in-universe art and architecture, relationships between characters and civilizations, cultural traditions, governmental systems, currency and trade, guides on naming various features of a world, constructed languages, and how to receive and handle feedback as a creator. The book contains judicious examples from all types of media, and a chapter showing the results of my worldbuilding in relation to the book's content.

For authorship, explanations are given in the context of a creator looking to build a world of fiction for any medium. It explores how the environments they create can improve their ability to drive a narrative, write compelling plots, and characters that interact with that world. The book is written with an educational slant, and gives a lot of technical information about why things in our world are the way they are, and how best to apply the research you do to inspire new creations.

Here is the list of supported devices, which appear to be Fire only.
I'll work on getting a more compatible version made.

Basically, it's PDF in a Kindle container. It needs to be a standard eBook and this version needs to go.

Unfortunately, I've just learned that once a fixed format book is uploaded to Amazon, it cannot be changed to a reflowable format.

Amazon seems to be practically allowing blurbs as titles these days!

Also multiple versions of the same thing.

Fire is Amazon's customized version of Android Tablets and Android TV but with Amazon instead of Playstore and a slightly different version of the Kindle for Android App "baked in".

Easy mistake to make. Some of us read text as plain files before PDF was even developed.

We make an epub first, proof it on a Kobo and final epub is uploaded to everyone/everywhere.

Then the original wordprocessor file gets the page styles, headers, footers, index, footnotes, page numbers, paragraph styles all edited in a new version for the PDF uploads for each paper format. That's only done when we are 100% sure the WP file for epub conversion is OK.

If there IS a revision, then it's epub WP source and if not too major the changed bits are copy/pasted over WP file version for PDF export (no conversion needed) as unformated text so PDF styles not messed up.

But distributing computer generated documents since 1981.

So pull your eBook from Amazon. Then put the reflowable version up on Amazon.
