Hmm, I was going to download that to my wife's Kindle, but it's showing as $9.68 for me - is that because I'm in Canada, or am I doing something wrong?

It's just not free for Canadians. But it's a Zondervan book and sometimes their freebies which aren't free for us in the Kindle store end up free @ Sony or Kobo.
