New reader problems

I just bought a Sony 505 reader & have three problems:
1.It keeps on freezing requiring resetting.
2.Sleep mode is on and was working but it stopped working 3 days ago requiring complete shutdown every time.
3. Synchronizing to the computer worked fine for 2 weeks but yesterday I got a message that says "Operation failed due to an error". I tried resetting the reader 3 times & also rebooted the computer. Nothing works.
Any suggestions?

Hi

How many books to you have on it? Do you use an SD card? No problem with Adobe authorizations?

(Sorry, synch with prs-505 doesn't always work nicely...)

Hi

I only have about 10 pdf documents on it - each of them average 15 pages, I just started using it. So its pretty empty. I dont know what you mean by PDF authorizations?

Occasionally I'll have a PDF wreak major havoc on my Reader. There's probably a problem with one of your files.

Try removing the PDFs and load something in either LRF or EPub. This should tell you whether the problem is with the reader or with one of the PDF files.

Are you using the Sony Ebook library software to load you books? It may be a bit quirky, but I find that it gives more stable results.

It is also just possible that the reader might need a long mains recharge. New readers take a little while before the battery meter calibrates itself and gives an accurate reading. See this thread:
