I just bought the PE last month on the 28th. Wow, what luck, and no one let us know.

If we could download the Dingo 1.1 and the Beta upgrade as zips we could at least have something allowing us to move back and forth. If my PE crashes like gecko's what do you do? Especially if no tech service exists?

gecko, if you slide the lock all the way over to the right it brings up the home screen. I guess that's the "unlock" button.

So who is going to do the froyo beta upgrade?

Anyway, the thing works now, sort of, except that non-EE things are the wrong resolution on the desktop (they're too big).

The rotate (under "view") on the e-reader side works! Unfortunately, you can't annote a rotated pdf file and, because there's no annotate mode available, you can't cheat by annotating in portrait mode and then rotating. So, this is an improvement, but no nirvana yet.

"Storage" disappeared to be replaced by "Device Storage." UI is the same; haven't found any functional differences.

Upgrade was fast and easy. Went without a hitch.

Froyo seems pretty fast, boot time about 90 seconds, maybe a bit more. Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.0 does not work. Installs fine and crashes immediately after selecting a file. Snappy response on the LCD when selecting icons, etc.

Any fix in annotation scaling when you change zoom level?

Can we use the exchange feature to sync to google like the iPhone and iPod touch ?

Too bad about the acrobat. I wonder about the other editors like repligo or ezreader.

Angry Birds Rio refuses to install from the Amazon App Store...hmmmmmm.

Gecko, just slide the green lock icon all the way to the right. Everything comes back. But my icons are spread farther apart and not all of my previous desktop is visible.

I like the way you can go to side desktops just by clicking on white dots which also give you a frame of reference.

Can we resize the icons or change their spacing on the page?

OK, now ZombieBooth and FruitNinja have force closed immediately (FN locked the device, had to reboot). This may not be the 2.2 you're looking for.

I'm beginning to wonder if this is an "early" beta, and not a release candidate...

This is clearly not the "games" release. I spent some time fruitlessly trying to uninstall the games that EntOuRAGe supplied but I don't want; I'm not about to start adding games, especially with fruits, now.

There's a new Froyo E-mail; don't know what the difference is, but it really is new; you have to redo all your e-mail info.

Oh, and no fix for the can't-annotate-and-zoom limitation.

Well, I shouldn't have installed before the revert zips were actually posted. Luckily this was done on my spare Edge.
