I remember reading her books when I was a kid in the 1970s.

Nothing wrong with Henry Huggins and Ramona (but while Ramona was funnier, my heart was with poor Beezus), but I was also a fan of her maltshop-style stories.

I didn't think I had read any of her books until I looked up her bibliography. I've read (and liked) at least one, The Mouse and the Motorcycle. I think someone gave it to my daughter when she was little. I probably liked it more than she did.

May Beverly Cleary rest in peace.

That's the one I've been trying to think of. I was conflating it with E.B. White's Stuart Little for some reason.

I barely remember the books, it's been so long, but I'm thinking I also preferred Beezus.
