The Fire was never intended as an iPad replacement. They don't even have the same screen.

i'm more looking at the nexus 7 for a tablet.

Kindle, until it read ePub, i don't give a damn about what other qualities it might have...
No way i'm converting all my ePubs when i have other options.

I have Aldiko on my KF and ADE sees it just fine. I used ADE to deliver some DRMed Epubs to my Fire yesterday.
