I'm getting it for $273 and free two day shipping

The Sony 505 is what I'm getting. Not too bad. My other option was to go to Borders an get 300 points in my rewards account which would have only earned me $10.
Sign up at ebates.com and go to the Sony store through the dropdown list. You will get a "big fat check" for 4%. Also, use the coupon code HOLIDAY5 (case sensitive) at checkout. That's a 5 not an S.
You MUST link through the ebates site to get the 4% cash back. Use me as the referring friend (melby59044@cablemt.net) and we'll both get an extra $5 in our account through ebates. I use them a lot. Nearly every store I shop at online has a cash back rebate. It's definitely worth the 60 seconds it takes to sign up. Have fun!

I ended up ordering my Sony 505 the same way...via ebates. I've already gotten my rebate credited to my account, plus I received free one-day shipping. Unfortunately, it took them several days to actually ship even though they claimed it would ship in one day.

I signed up for a credit card on Sony's site, get $100 credit applied to card on first purchase of $299 or more. SO if this goes through I'll get a 505 for $199, free shipping, $100 free classic titles, $50 Connect credit.

From datavis.com, you can get PRS505 at 269.99$ including shipping without any work. The shipping is by UPS ground, though.

Cool The shipping is important to me bc I'm leaving town.

Going on Vaca! You should really sign up for ebates whether you use me as the referring friend or not. I have received some nice "big fat checks" from them
