Wacom penabled alternative to the DR 1000s

For those of use that use the iRex DR 1000S as a paper replacement and need to scribble on PDFs, the first serious competition appears to be the enTourage eDGe, supposed to come on February.

Details and a demonstration are in this report, in particular the second video. There's also an impressive demo on the company's web site.

Note the user replacable battery and the ability to merge scribbles in the device.

Looks interesting. The design may be a little bit problematic though, when you fold it so that you are looking at one screen, either the e-ink one or the lcd, you'll probably be putting the device on a table, or on your lap, etc.
This exposes the other side to a dirty table, a rough surface which may harm it, unless you are using some sort of cover.
The idea is still good though, because e-ink is great for eye-friendly reading, and checking out stuff on the web, or attending a skype meeting while taking notes are nice use cases. I would not consider Apple's or some other companies tablet as a direct replacement for e-ink, and this device may be good combination of two technologies.
