ebooks from google store

Okay,

I have done a search in several thread and forums and can't seem to find the answer, so hopefully, somone can help me.

Does Google Ebook store sells DRM free books? I have heard both, that they do and that they don't.

I know they have books for the Sony (I have the 900), but I can't figure out if they have or do not have DRM.
They have some that I want but . . .
I am just now buying ebooks and I am going to do my best to buy at stores that do not support DRM.
I know that there are a lot of free books and I have downloaded a LOT, but some I have to buy.

So, does Google sell only DRM'd or both, those with and those without, and how do I tell the difference?

I have not purchased from Google yet but I suspect that anything still in copyright will have DRM attached to it. Any public domain books will probably not have DRM.

Google has a huge number of out of copyright (e.g. published in the US before 1923) ebooks that are free. These are all DRM-free.

If they are selling ebooks from major publishers, they will have Adobe DRM - just as they would from the Sony Store.

They do sell other ebooks without DRM. From DRM options for Google eBooks downloads

You can choose if you would prefer not to apply Digital Rights Management (DRM) software to the digital file download of your book.
Note that this is for authors and/or publishers.

My guess is that their “oreilly books” are DRM-free, but if so I can't tell this from the book description. O'Reilly computer books are DRM-free when bought from O'Reilly and have DRM when bought from the Kindle Store. So it would not be a definitive test.
