That's a change. From memory, it displayed below the cover image.

Bummer .. screenshot feature doesn't work on Touch (loved that feature on my BeBook).
It worked on both my Touch and Glo. I tested it on both while writing my post above.

Confirmed.
With screenshots=true the power switch only works for taking screenshots (on the Touch).

I've been thinking a good way to take notes would be to snap screenshots, upload them to Evernote, and let Evernote OCR them for search.

If you add the following lines below to the "Kobo eReader.conf" file, when you press the power slider it will take a screenshot. The screenshot will be saved as a PNG in the root directory of the device.

Code:
[FeatureSettings]
Screenshots=true
If there is already a "FeatureSettings" section, add the other line after it.
Great. It works! It replaces the sleep function on power button, but as I use sleep cover, then it's not a problem at all.

That's true. I just tried and it's impossible to shut down Glo with power button now. I played word scramble and it hanged during the game for a few seconds. So yes, it's better if the power button is functional.
Also, as it's impossible to shut Glo down, I wonder, if the battery dies, am I able to start up my Glo? I'm going to delete this GREAT snapshot feature. I wish there were another way to take a snapshot. Kobo should add double or triple tap function to do that.

Not sure if this was in 2.10.0 or not, but it is new since 2.8.1b anyway:

When I bring up the header/footer menus in a book, tapping the light symbol in the header now opens the brightness adjuster directly, whereas In 2.8.1 it would just open the main menu and an extra tap was required to select the brightness adjuster.

Not enough buttons on these touch readers ... on the BeBook they used the volume (+/-) button.

Damn, how difficult it is to fix those issues. It so annoying after each page turn to scroll the page up to start reading. It seems they never check if all works in landscape mode too. Unbelievable. Those issues have been up since the FW 2.8.1. Sent email to kobo support, but after a week, now reply received.
Same on AuraHD.

OTOH as a half-workaround and as a very useful feature: You don't need to tap on the bars for turning page. A tap on right/left just works like in epubs/kepubs... Although the problem is that left/right is up/down because the active areas doesn't seem to be rotated at all...

------------------

Another step back in 3.0.0 from 2.10.0. At least in pdfs (that's the format of my current reading), in the book menu (bottom left icon) you had access to the Dictionary. But in 3.0.0 this access has been removed. So there's no way to call the Dictionary (or Translation) inside the pdf. You have to go to Home>Extras>Dictionary and then return to the pdf (while loosing your zooming setting...)

I haven't tried with 3.0.0 but again in the old version, if you held the power switch for 20 or so seconds, you got the screen shot and power off. Once power is off (battery dies and you recharge, for example), the power switch will work as does the reset switch.

OTOH, I only enabled that function when I wanted screen shots as it was annoying to get a screenshot everytime I forgot and tried to go to sleep mode.

Regards,
David
