Trading in Danger, by Elizabeth Moon, is the second free title from the Suvudu Free Libary for today and is the first in her Vatta's War series.

By snapping up a lucrative delivery contract defaulted on by a rival company, and using part of the proceeds to upgrade her condemned vehicle, Ky aims to prove she’s got more going for her than just her family’s famous name. But business will soon have to take a backseat to bravery, when Ky’s change of plans sails her and the crew straight into the middle of a colonial war. For all her commercial savvy, it’s her military training and born-soldier’s instincts that Ky will need to call on in the face of deadly combat, dangerous mercenaries, and violent mutiny. . . .

Amazon broke the listing for this and the other two Suvudu free reads when they did an DB update at noon (their time). Don't know when it will come back (or if any country can access these now). The links were working as I tested and typed them in (glad I bought while doing that) and will no doubt work again later this month ... I just don't know when.

Looks like having all US Kindle book sales blocked (it wasn't just the free ones, the entire store was down for over 1/2 hour) got someone's attention at Amazon. The problem has been corrected and the free reads posted earlier today are now available, at least in the US.

Anyone found an ePub version of this? Tried to see if Shortcovers has it, but it doesn't look like it's there (or my searching ability sucks).

BTW, is it just me or is Shortcovers somewhat difficult to navigate and browse?

They only have six Elizabeth Moon titles and this isn't one of them, at least not yet.

Not only it's not there, but the library arrangement at shortcovers.com is somewhat confusing. Back in the earlier suvudu freebies, i put a couple of books (free) into my library (Changelings and Perdido Street Station). Today I was browsing my library there, and these two titles have a tag BUY it for $XX.XX. What the hell? When it was free, I was able to 'buy' it. Now that they're not free anymore, I can't download the book _from_my_library_ unless I pay it???

Yeah, Shortcovers doesn't add your free books to your library for re-download in the sense that other retailers do, they have to be downloaded while offered free.
