"Send to Device" on Linux
I recently installed the Linux binary of Calibre on Ubuntu - I want to use it with my Nook Color. When I plug in the mini-USB on the NC, it mounts correctly in Ubuntu; however, Calibre fails to see it (and therefore, I have no "Send to Device" functionality available).
Is there something special I have to do to get this to work in Ubuntu (or Linux in general)? |

What version of calibre did you install? The repo versions tend to be very old. You should be running calibre 0.7.37.

I installed the latest binary (0.7.37) - not from the repos.

The ubuntu repo version in Lucid is something like 6.4.2, which is pretty old. Where are you guys getting the 7.3.7 version .deb from? I found a ppa, but it's only 7.1.13, which has a problem in it.
Thanks! Robert UPDATE: I found a PPA for installing the latest version so figured I would include that in my posting in case anyone else needed it: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:n-muench/calibre-lucid Last edited by robertjm; 01-04-2011 at 04:15 AM. Reason: added ppa location |

Folks - I continue to have the same issue. I installed version 0.7.40 in Ubuntu 10.10, mounted my Nook Color, and calibre does not see the device. Does calibre log anything anywhere?

You might also want to make sure your device interface plugin for the Nook is enabled. Last edited by DoctorOhh; 01-19-2011 at 01:27 AM. |
