They made a proof of concept for a 12.1" tablet last June, and even that didn't go anywhere. |

Answer to my info request from Hanvon:
[cut] Thank you for you suggestion. Currently, we don't have a plan to release a 13' or even larger screen model. The largest model is 9.7 inch, color e-ink screen. [cut] |

Not sure how I would use a 13 foot screen (or where I would even put it).

Have you seen the future according to Microsoft? That's what I think too, an A4 size tablet !

Looks like the future is full of tablets of all sizes. Too bad it's also incredibly creepy and features bad music, and a self-driving car that still requires a person to open the door. And in the future, I don't want a recipe, I want the food to assemble itself like in Star Trek!

I like the music and the clean and luxury style
In fact, it's the very near future, in 5 years. So no hoverboard, no meals assembling themselves... According to Kurt DelBene, President, Microsoft Office Division: “All of the ideas in the video are based on real technology. Some of the capabilities, such as speech recognition, real time collaboration, and data visualization, already exist today. Others are not yet available in specific products, but represent active research and development happening at Microsoft and other companies.” http://www.kurzweilai.net/microsoft-...f-productivity |

In the meanwhile I would be happy with a simple "classic" A4 touch ereader or tablet wich still doesn't exist

As long as we are talking non-eInk, the ASUS Eee Slate EP121 has a 12.1 inch display and a faster processor. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it though since it needs an update - it's still running 1st gen Intel Core i5. |

I owned an ASUS E121some times ago but I've returned it.
You've got the advantages, but especially the drawbacks of a Tablet PC which are: -the price tag : 999€.... -a powerful processor means lot of heat... and so ridiculous autonomy (less than 3 hours) and noisy fans (two little -the smaller, the more annoying-fans inside) -the weight: 1.6kg and for something which isn't even exactly an A4 size technically but a little less. I think that the technology is not mature enough right now. Except ASUS (and HP with the TM2 - a still noisier device, and maybe some others less known), there aren't a lot of contenders on this niche. Last edited by Huyggy; 11-04-2011 at 03:45 PM. |
