Constant crashes

I downloaded the latest version of Calibre onto a Windows Vista laptop last night.

First of all I get errors something like 'cannot find database file' which seems to be a permission thing - I disabled McAfee and it started to work.

However, whenever I try to do something with it 50% of the time it crashes halfway through an operation.

It's a shame because I like the meta tagging feature.

Is it because I have it installed in c:\program files\ ?

There was a bug in version 0.6.13-0.6.15 that could cause crashes. Make sure you have 0.6.16

If that's not it, what should I do next time it crashes?

Awesome - works great now.

Love the swap author / title buttons. Neat touch.

Can it take series metadata from the filename?

Hi, What do you mean by the author / title swap buttons? I am asking this because I am very interested in categorizing my books with the authors' name, then title.. does the new version do that?

I also have the latest version .6.16 but it still crashes sometimes, why so?
