.Html book adds to library as .zip file

When I add a book that is in .htm or .html format they appear to be added
to the library correctly. When I look at the book details it shows a zip file
type. When I try to open that book it is indeed a zip file in the Calibre
library which pops up in my default unzip software. I am fairly new to
Calibre software but I really love it . If this is not the correct forum I apologize. Thanks, Rick

That is correct, HTML files are automatically upgraded to ZIP files with all linked resources etc. contained within.

Is there something you prefer about disassociated HTML files? (I believe you can disable the HTML Input plugin to stop that automatic conversion.)
Does your device actually allow you to read HTML files?

I think what you probably want to do is convert the ZIP container to an EPUB.

P.S. Welcome to MobileRead, and welcome to the Association of calibre Lovers.
