Me too! Touch screens suck for typing and editing. On the Fire, the copy/paste feature is kluge and simply fails more often than it should.

What about screenshots? Is there a key combination for taking a screenshot as with other Kindles?

No native screen capture function. There might be a 3rd-party app that will work.
