A question about this plugin. It is working well for me, but every time my Kobo goes to power off mode and back on, it no longer works until I open a book. I guess this is due to some limitation of the way the plugin actually works, or is something amiss?

Yup, that's part of the design of the Kobo's plugin system. It keeps any broken plugins from ruining startup before you can plug in and fix them. (The plugin system wasn't grafted on after, it's in the standard Kobo software.)
Most people just put it to sleep to avoid the reboot/reload step. If you're doing a cold boot, more time will be spent watching the dancing squares than opening a book anyway. |

ikarus9999: Thanks a lot
The plugin is great! All it's missing is a menu link to the browser in the home screen Also, a thing that would be amazing was if it would be possible to specify names and commands in the config file, and they would be presented in a dropdown menu on the home screen... that would make python scripts etc sooo much more useful for the touch |

What I'd like is a rooted file browser but maybe too much to request.
Anyway thank you for making our touch better. |

What are you actually trying to achieve with a rooted file browser, other than the hax kudos? I can't think of anything you really need a file browser for TBQH, although I'm sure someone has a good idea. |

It's embedded Linux, not Android
The two are similar (For that matter closely related), but very different beasties. Still don't understand what you're trying to do though! You can't convert this ebook reader into anything resembling a tablet or phone without writing/ porting a whole new interface. (To be precise, you'd need to get something writing to the framebuffer, and then push your interface via that!) |
