Leider stimmt das nicht. So sind z.B. sämtliche Bücher von Suhrkamp und die meisten von Hanser nach wie vor nur im ePub-Format zu bekommen.
Man braucht ja nur die jeweiligen Neuerscheinungen von Amazon und Libri zu vergleichen, um die Unterschiede zu sehen.

Amazon erinnert mich leider immer mehr an einen schlecht sortierten Ramschladen. Kein Vergleich zu Libri, die ihr Sortiment meiner Einschätzung nach sehr gut sortiert haben. Unter "Romane" bei Libri findet man keine Sachbücher oder Arzt- und Liebesgeschichten auf "Julia"-Niveau, während bei Amazon unter Belletristik eigentlich alles zu haben ist, vom Ratgeber, übers Jugendbuch bis hin zum selbstverlegten Porno.

Du wirst jetzt doch nicht ernsthaft behaupten, dass dieses Belletristik-Menü keine Sortierung zulässt?

Du darfst natürlich auch nicht vergessen, dass das deutsche Kindle-Angebot erst seit einigen Wochen läuft und große E-Book-Händler wie Libri schon viel länger im Geschäft sind und demzufolge auch mehr Zeit hatten, ein (deiner Meinung nach) besseres Sortiment aufzustellen. Also denke ich, dass man vom Kindle-Shop noch einiges erwarten kann.

Solch eine Sortierung meine ich nicht, die gibt es auch bei der Konkurrenz. Und die richtet sich tatsächlich nach den Schubladen der Verlage.

Nehmen wir bei Amazon "Gegenwartsliteratur". Was finden wir dort? Richtig, Fontane und Goethe, das paßt zweifellos. Die Julia-Romane gehören natürlich auch dazu.

Egal wo man reinschaut, ein heilloses Durcheinander. Wenn ich sicher sein will, keine wirklich interessante Neuerscheinung im Bereich Literatur zu verpassen, muß ich bei Amazon unter Belletristik und Erscheinungsdatum suchen, bei Libri reicht "Romane" und Erscheinungsdatum. Dort findet man tatsächlich die komplette Literatur, ohne sich seitenweise durch Juliaromane, Pornos oder Ratgeber scrollen zu müssen.

Das war bei Libri auch mal anders, ich gehe davon aus, daß Amazon es bald besser machen wird.

Was ich eigentlich damit sagen wollte: Beobachtet man die Neuerscheinungen bei Amazon und Libri fällt doch auf, daß viele anspruchsvolle Romane nicht bei Amazon erscheinen und man sich dort, egal in welchem Sortiment, durch ein Sammelsurium teilweise recht merkwürdiger Titel durchwühlen muß.

Nach Möglichkeit kaufe ich trotzdem bei Amazon, weil ich den noch kundenfeindlicheren Adobe-DRM so wenig wie möglich unterstützen will.

Mir geht es ähnlich wie vielen hier. Über die Vor- bzw. Nachteile von DRM geschützten ePubs kann man vortrefflich streiten. Aber Tatsache ist, dass ich einige dieser ePubs habe und mir derzeit Gedanken über einen neuen Reader mache. Der Kindle mit WiFi und 3G ist durchaus, auch wegen des Preises interessant. Aber meine ePubs sind damit wohl erstmal nicht zu nutzen.

Darum verwende ich mein Pocketbook 360 weiter und warte was passiert. Frehlende ePub Unterstützung ist meiner Meinung nach für den deutschen Markt derzeit ein k.o. Kriterium.

man kann jetzt natürlich warten bis der Kindle von sich aus epub + DRM unterstützt. Oder man installiert Calibre, ein PlugIn dafür, und liest seine epubs als mobi auf dem Kindle.
