This article from the L.A. Times has images with a blurb about 20 fascinating sites to see around the world. If you live near any of them, please let me know so that I can make my travel arrangements (this includes you Marc and desertgrandma!). Thank you.

hm, all those destinations are intriguing, but i have to admit to being instantly attracted to glass beach. i love sea glass !

That's a good one and one I can get to next time I'm up in Northern CA.

I'm always partial to anything in or near the ocean, so I'm very interested in the Great Blue Hole in Belize, the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, Zlatni Rat and Shark Bay.

I think Marc should take me to the Yellow Treehouse Restaurant. I don't know if it's close to him but it is in the same country.

Daffy, thats an awesome site. I've bookmarked it to go back to sloooowly........

I was not even aware of that ribbon desert......looks like about a 4 hr drive from here.

those are the spots that tempt me the most as well. i love the ocean.

I'm still trying to get to the Grand Canyon. Been here almost 6 years, and haven't made it.

My husband doesn't travel.

Shhh, don't tell Marc, but I'll just take him to Broadway Street in downtown L.A. I'm sure someone on the street will put on some kind of show. I don't think he'll know the difference, being a monkey and all.

Neat link! I've been to about three of them (Utah, Arizona ones). I was not impressed with the petrified forest, I'm kind of surprised it made the list. Compared to some of the other things on the list, I thought that one was least interesting. But the ribbon one in Arizona -- I have been close, but not to that exact destination. You see a lot of things like that near that area though, it's simply gorgeous and amazing. When we lived in NM and AZ, one of our favorite vacation spots (and one of my favorite places on Earth) was Lake Powell. we always went up through the Page, Arizona side (closer to us).

I'm surprised the ever famous House on the Rock wasn't on the list (I checked out this link- they've added a lot and made it much more "touristy" since my visit in 1993). It's certainly an oddity!

GraceKrispy, I am so very jealous of you! You live in a state surrounded by by fascinating sites. You just can't go wrong. I haven't been to Hawaii since 1999, so I'm way overdue for another trip.

I was in Kauai the last time, in Poipu. I am terribly afraid of heights but I went to Waimea Canyon anyway. It was so huge and beautiful, it was unreal and didn't freak me out the way I expected. Maybe I *can* take on the Grand Canyon.

Dear LA Times. I'm sorry, but I resent it when you try to choose what size my browser will be. It's my computer and *I* am in charge. I think you just blew any chance of every getting my patronage.

Yes, that was pretty annoying. I figured out (after the fact) that FF3 can stop the resizing from happening. You have to uncheck the "resize" box in the javascript section.

I didn't know what y'all were talking about, so I went back to FF3 from Chrome and saw the resizing. Not nice at all.

Thanks for the tip Daffy. I sometimes have both browsers up and running since there are certain functions I can do in FF3 and not Chrome.
