That's not exactly a new idea - it was extremely common in Victorian times to do exactly that. Every respectable "middle class" home had a library, and there was a thriving business in supplying complete "libraries". Didn't matter what the books were - they were never intended to be read - they were any old rubbish rebound in handsome leather bindings. Solely there for "show".

How interesting to learn that such companies still exist today! Yes, that's exactly the way it was done in Victorian times - you'd just order "5 yards of books"; you didn't care what they were. Fascinating to see that there's obviously still a commercial market for that.

Aren't those quite often used in furniture stores in "homelike" displays. I know that all the IKEA stores here in Sweden usually has this types of thing in their bookshelves that is on display in their stores.
