Seriously, I think a mention of the fact that some covers cause the problem is worth mentioning.

Hello again peoples! So fun to be briefly back

Good idea to change the first post of this thread Dryhte, and good job doing so VelvetElvis! Might it be an idea to request the thread title be changed as well?

So, in my absence, Kobo decided to bring out two updates and even a completely new reader! Gah. How rude. I don't want to know anything about that Aura thing. Shh.

Have the new updates brought us any fixes for the battery draining when screen is touched too soon during sleep/off?

I would also love to hear from other who were having battery issues, as to whether or not it's been addressed. Sameer has gone underground, it seems. My GF's device seems to be OK so far, but the cover surgery I did seemed to mitigate the immediate problem.

I'd love to change the title of this thread, but can't seem to figure out how.

You can PM one of the moderators I think. Or, though I'm not sure if this function is also for title change, you could hit the "!" icon next to the "karma" button of your original post and ask for a title change and report it from the next screen.

Welcome back! It has been quiet without you

I hadn't noticed that there had been any updates. I'll attach my Touch to the computer and get the latest update and then run the tests again. I'm not reading it much at the moment (going through my dead-tree editions of Iain Banks' books), so it won't hurt anything.

Elsewhere, Kobo people have stated that no changes specific to this problem were in 2.5.0 or 2.5.1. But it is one of the important things for the next release. Though it ended with "hope we can get his done".
