Plugin request: send full folder to email

Usually you can send books to email addresses in just one format, according to a user-defined list of formats. It would be very nice if one could send the full folder with all the formats of a book as a zipped file.

The plugin should add a menu item in the Connect-share menu:
Code:
[Connect-share] -> [zipped folder]
                      +--------> [send zipped folder to (default email)]
                      +--------> [send zipped folder to ...]
The [send zipped folder to (default email)] sub-menu item should act as the default sub-menu [send email to (default email)], but with the insertion of the full folder zipped in one file as email attachment;

the [send zipped folder to...] compresses into a zipped file the full folder with all the formats of an ebook and let the user choose the recipient of the email.

Regards.

Why precisely is it necessary to email multiple formats of the same book?

If you are trying to transfer a library, email is not the way to go.
Generally, you do not need multiple formats of the same book, you only need to read it once.

First off I understand that this is an old thread but just came across it and thought it was a good idea.

I actually like the idea of the zipping a folder and emailing.

For me it wouldn't be for the multiple formats but for all books for a specific author. Currently I do the save to disk - then manually zip that folder and email it as an attachment.

In such a case, I usually just select all books and send-to-email instead of save-to-disk. The difference is it is fewer steps and the books are each a separate attachment email.

What is the specific need for those books to be zipped together? Is it to save on space? ebooks are already zipped, so further compression cannot do much except take up more space for the packaging.

Where is this send to email located? I'd love to send multiple books thru Calibre in an email w/o zipping them.

They will send one per email, but they queue up without user intervention.

There is a setting in Preferences ==> Tweaks to shorten the wait time in between each email.
