The coupon was given out to a random sampling of Fictionwise members. It has "OctSurprise" followed by a pin number, which is likely also linked to accounts. It is one time use for each coupon.

It doesn't really matter if you typed it right or not, if it's not sent to you, it won't work on your account.

Thanks for that bit of info. And nope, I wasn't sent one. Oh well. There goes that sale I was going to make if I could have used micropay.

Do you think just plain old purchasing was the key to being selected? I have never bothered with the club or micropay or anything. I think it just automatically does micropay, but don't know whether it is banking them somewhere or what. Probably will look someday and see that they all expired the day before.

But "yes," the codes came via email and it did say it was for randomly selected customers. I got caught up on buying Asimov's through the end of the year.

I buy a lot at FW and I haven't purchased anything at ereader, so maybe it's for those who DON'T buy

I told them I wouldn't be buying at ereader but that I shop at FW all the time and if they changed the coupon I would buy for sure... let's see what they say.
