Elmore Leonard - Djibouti

In my recent Sunday newspaper I was delighted to see that one of my favourite authors had published a new book, Djibouti. I was therefore disappointed that it wasn't in the Kindle Store.

In situations like this, are there other sources I should search from my PC, iPad or Kindle please?

Finally, was this the right forum to post this?

Books on Board carry Djibouti, but as far as I can see it's only in ePub format.

They also have dozens of his very early works, including some short story collections, but none of his really top-selling books (again, as far as I can see).

Amazon (in the US) also have some of his titles, but not Djibouti.

Thanks Mike, appreciate the fast reply.

Apart from 'Executive Report on Strategies in Djibouti' (£207!) I got no hits with Djibouti in the search box at http://www.booksonboard.com/

BTW, that URL took over a minute to load (on several occasions). Searches were slow too. Is that typical?

I've read all of his previous books, but out of curiosity I then tried a search target of 'Elmore Leonard'. That gave me only 7 titles. (There were 9 'hits' but 2 were identical and the other presumably only got included because Leonard was amongst the reviewers!) And are these digital, audio or paper? How do you tell from say this example please?

Where did you find his 'Djibouti'? Also (I'm an ebook novice) what is the practical implication of this being 'only in ePub format' please?

P.S. I found the smilies. They are apparently absent only in Quick Reply mode.

You cannot load & read ebooks in epub format on a Kindle. Depending on where you live & your comfort level, there are tools available to remove DRM from epub books, which can then be format-shifted via Calibre and then loaded onto your Kindle. We cannot provide explicit instructions on this forum for "DRM removal", but you can Google the term and find more information at a website featuring Alf. There is a Calibre forum here that can help you format shift ebooks if you decide to remove the DRM.

Thanks pooh bear_ nc, I'll explore further.

Strether: Presumably that's Amazon USA? I don't see it at amazon.co.uk.

Terry,

You asked how I know his books are at Books on Board. I use AddAll (http://ebooks.addall.com/). Enter the author and title name, and it gives you all the main ebook merchants who carry the book in question. It's very useful.

By the way, I see that CyberRead is offering Leonard's 10 Rules of Writing for US$11.95. I think he'd be very amused at that. I heard that he was at a writers conference, and was asked at short notice to give a short talk to fill in for another speaker. He jotted down the "10 rules" on a scrap of paper, and used that for his presentation. As he was leaving the platform, a journalist asked him if he could keep the piece of paper. Leonard agreed, and the journalist turned it into a full-length article. So, now it's an ebook as well.

Thanks Mike, that's a great search tool.

Strange that BoB's own search didn't find it though?
