I rooted and the world didn't explode!

I'm so proud of my very non-techy self. I followed everyone's recommendations (thanks) and used nookdevs to root my nook. The directions were fairly idiot proof, even tho I was sweating it.

Now what do I do? I've seen lots of posts re: 'use trook, calibre' but I can't find any step by step instructions as to which to load first, etc. The nookdev site was SO clear, I'm looking for something that simple.

The #1 reason that I rooted was to gain a better library management system. I already use calibre on my pc, but am unsure if that's what I need to use on my nook. I won't browse the web, read google feeds, etc. It's all about the library management for me.

Can someone point me towards the simple instructions re: cranking up my library management? Thanks in advance.

The main thing you will need is nookLibrary. The current version is here.

There are a number of ways to load it onto your nook, some at nookdev and some here. I used Android Commander. Unfortunately, there are no simple instructions, and everyone has pretty much abandoned the nook as far as hacking goes. nookLibrary is essential and solved all the library and file management problems of the B&N software, which is just terrible and buggy.

This is important, and I am assuming that the softroot you installed had the basic package of apps, just not the new version of nookLibrary. Version 1.0 is pretty basic; I don't understand why they are still including it after so many updates, but as I said; no more interest in the old nook.

Glad to help. nookLibrary is well worth all the trouble. Without it I would have junked my nook.
