Original cover melted

Hi,

I was carrying my PRS-505 in my backpack with a bug spray (in a separated division!!!). Unfortunately, the bug spray leaked and attacked the backpack material which attacked my reader cover.

Although it protected the reader itself, my cover is now damaged.

So, my question is if anybody knows where I can find replacement for it (I'm in Ottawa). I'm ok buying the same kind of cover since I don't have budget to buy any fancy one.

Thanks!

Paulo

Lesson learned: no bug spray or other "leakable" product with my reader

I have a feeling the M-Edge at around 14.00 at Amazon is probably about as cheap as anything price wise..

Thanks for pointing that.

Do you own one? Does it keep the reader really tied?

Thanks

I've been hearing a lot of people having bug spray leaking into their bag. Put the bug spray into a ziplock type back and keep the bag zipped and then if it leaks, less change f it making a mess inside your bag.

I couldn't order from Amazon because they aren't shipping this kind of product to Canada. I'm trying to order directly from M-Edge but it seems their S&H price is more expensive.

Probably I'm going to buy 2 items and resell one since the S&H is almost the same for one or two.

Regards

Paulo

I just got my M-Edge and yes it does protect it well and holds it tight, but it does make it thicker to hold in your hand. So I will prob just use mine when traveling and use the cover it came with at home.

I bet if you put out a call on this forum to buy an original style cover, that there would be ample replies. So many people have opted for fancier covers and don't use their old ones . . . you probably could get a great bargain.

I dunno. I tried to get an original 505 cover and haven't succeeded yet. But, I DO have am M-Edge leather cover (pristine, bought from Amazon & never used) that I'll sell cheap. Like, $5 plus shipping to Canada (whatever actual postage is), if you're interested. PM me.

Sue the maker of the bug spray...I doubt they had a disclaimer on the can that their product could damage e-reader covers. They will surely settle quickly

Well, I still have a tan original cover for sale in the Flea Market forum - but it might the wrong colour for you, of course.

The M-Edge cover will protect your reader better than the stock cover, and it's overall nicer, I think.
