Greetings: New E-Book User

Hello all!

I just pre-ordered the PRS-600 from Sony. It will be my first e-reader. So, I'm excited. I'm sure I will need as much help as possible from all the people here who have experience. I will be a totally newbie

. Anyway, I'm an academic who has published a few articles so far. I'm writing my dissertation and hope to be "Dr." by May

. Anyway, this is a way for me not to print articles anymore and keep the paper stuff down to a minimum. Makes moving easier too because I will get pdf's of my filing cabinet full of articles instead of lugging around boxes.

Yee-haw, the 600 sounds hot! I'm going to be pretty tempted myself, even though I've been very happy with my Kindle. In fact, when I was gushing about the 600 a couple days ago to my wife, she asked "what's wrong with the one you have?". Didn't have an answer for that, other than "it's a year old"!

What are you getting your PhD in? What's your dissertation topic?

HAHA. Yeah. I needed a good one that can have expandable memory. I've got well over 1000 articles to transfer to it

I have the 700 and love it but am seriously considering the 600 if the glare issues of the 700 are corrected. Along with your articles, you might want to download some of the free ebooks we have here at MR. Enjoy!

I was skimming the forums. Yikes with the software stuff. How intimidating. Is the software that comes from say Sony bad? Just curious.
